Section <br /> <br />3: The California Department of Transportation, the <br />Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the Counties of <br />Alameda and Santa Clara, and the Cities of Alameda <br />and Santa Clara are urged to encourage and support <br />efforts and to take such other actions as may be <br />necessary to achieve legislation whereby interstate <br />highway mileage designated under Section 139(a), <br /> Title 23, U. S. Code, will qualify for IR funds. <br /> <br />Section 4: The City Clerk is directed to forward copies of this <br /> resolution to the California members of Congress, <br /> California Department of Transportation, the Metropolitan <br /> Transportation Commission, County of Alameda, the County <br /> of Santa Clara, the Cities of San Jose, Milpitas, Newark, <br /> Union City, San Leandro, and Oakland, and such other <br /> offices and agencies which may be interested. <br /> <br />Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br /> its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED AUGUST 9, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Brandes, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Butler <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />None <br />Councilmember Mercer <br />None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Robert E.
