Warranty - <br /> <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON RFP WAtLRANTY STATEMENT <br /> <br />Pacific Telephone warrants and guarantees all parts and <br />equipment for wear and defects, including labor, for the life <br />of the total Central Office CENTREX System proposed to City of <br />Pleasanton ("Pleasanton") at no additional cost to Pleasanton <br />over the charges quoted in the pricing statement included <br />herein. <br /> <br />Pacific Telephone, as an integral part of and on behalf of the <br />Bell System guarantees support of the total CENTREX service <br />proposed for as long as Pacific Telephone continues to provide <br />such service to PleasantOn. The Western Electric Company is <br />the manufacturer of the CENTREX System proposed in response to <br />this RFP. The Western Electric Company as a wholly owned <br />subsidiary of American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) <br />does guarantee to the total Bell System the availability of all <br />necessary replacements and parts for the CENTREX Systems for as <br />long as such CENTREX Systems are in service in the Bell System. <br /> <br />This guarantee is backed by AT&T. <br /> <br />Due to Pacific Telephone's integral position within the Bell <br />System and its oneness with AT&T in the parent-subsidiary <br />relationship, Pacific Telephone is in the position to <br />unequivocally guarantee to Pleasanton replacement, parts and <br />service to the proposed CENTREX System for the life of the <br />service to Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Pacific Telephone offers its proposed System under its Tariffs <br />filed under the authority of the California Public Utilities <br />Commission (CPUC). Such Tariffs, including the rules and <br />regulations promulgated thereunder, constitute the contract <br />under which Pacific Telephone will perform all work related to <br />furnishing the CENTREX System. <br /> <br />Vendor Information <br />1. Company history - <br /> <br />PRESENT BELL SYSTEM ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE <br />The Bell System includes American Telephone and Telegraph <br />Company (AT&T) and its Long Lines Department, 23 Bell System <br />Operating Companies which includes Pacific Telephone, Western <br />Electric and Bell Laboratories. Each organization within the <br />System has a specific role in providing customer services, <br />equipment, and systems. <br /> <br />AT&T Long Lines Department is responsible for managing the <br />integrated network of facilities that connect the nation's <br />telephones to each other and to ~verseas countries and <br />territories. <br /> <br />The Bell System Operating Companies are responsible for the <br /> <br /> <br />
