CAMP DRESSER & McKEEINC.

Mr. Robert L. Warnick
June 7, 1983
Page 2

telemetry facilities, and major facilities which are not presently
telemetered. The facilities will be evaluated as to their present
condition, usefulness, and remaining life.

TASK 2 - DETERMINE FUTURE TELEMETRY REQUIREMENTS

Major facilities proposed for future construction either in the cur-
rent water master plan of other studie~ will be identified. These
facilities will include reservoirs, turnouts, wells, and the control
requirements for each of them. Also, additional functions will be
evaluated, such as pressures within the system, and monitoring of
chlorination, fluoridation, and standby generators.

TASK 3 - PREPARE LIST OF RECOMMENDATIONS TELEMETRY FUNCTIONS

A list will be prepared identifying the recommended functions and
facilities which should be included within the telemetry system.
These will include both the existing and future needs. The short and
long-term functions will be identified separately.

TASK 4 - EVALUATE ALTERNATIVE TELEMETRY AND CONTROL SYSTEMS

Alternative types of telemetry and control systems will be identified
and evaluated. The alternative for the control system will include
centralized and distributed systems, varying level s of sophistication
for control, control update and graphics, data logging, trending, and
report generation. In addition, alternative types of telemetry
systems will be discussed including the use of telephone, radio, and
City-owned hard wire systems.

Preliminary cost estimates for equipment and installation will be pre-
pared for each of the alternatives. Each alternative will be ranked
based on their estimated costs, flexibility, and capabilities. Pro-
visions will be included as to any compatibility requirements with the
existing equipment and the capability to maintain control of the
existing facilities during installation of any new equipment. In
addition, a preliminary cost estimate will be prepared for final
engineering design services.

TASK 5 -PREPARE REPORT

A written report describing Tasks I through 4 will be prepared.

SCHEDULE

We can begin work within one week of the authorization to proceed and
can complete all of the tasks within four (4} weeks.
