CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 83-93 RE: ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 83-1 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton as follows: WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 83-62 a public hearing was called for March 8, 1983, at the hour of 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Pleasanton, California, to ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures, and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric communication, or similar or associated service, within that certain area of the City described as Santa Rita Road and Old Santa Rita Road from Valley Avenue to Freeway 1-580; and WHEREAS, notice of such hearinq has been given to all affected property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned in the manner and for the time required by law; and WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON hereby finds and determines that the public necessity, health, safety, and welfare required the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated structures, and the underground installation of w~res and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar or associated service on both sides of Santa R~ta Road and Old Santa Rita Road from Valley Avenue to Freeway 1-580, such described area is hereby established as Underground Utility District No. 83-1. Attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A," and hereby ~ncorporated as part of th~s resolution, is a map delineating the boundaries of said D~strict. RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton hereby makes the followin~ further findings with regard to Underground Utility District No. 83-1: The undergrounding to be accomplished pursuant to this resolution will avoid or eliminate an unusually heavy concentration of overhead distribution facilities. The streets, roads, and rights-of. way in the District are extensively used by general public and carry a heavy volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
