that unless Hacienda Business Park Phase I is <br />constructed, the City of Pleasanton will be unable <br />to supply as many employment opportunities as <br />there are workers living in Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Hacienda Business Park Phase I is an environmentally <br />sound project which will provide employment opportunities <br />compatible with the job skills of the existing and <br />future workforce of Pleasanton; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The Council hereby reaffirms its decision that <br /> the development plan for Hacienda Business Park <br /> Phase I is consistent with the Pleasanton General <br /> Plan and specifically implements the development <br /> of commercial and industrial properties as encouraged <br /> by the Growth ~{anagement Element of the Plan and <br /> its legislative history. <br /> <br />Section 2: The Council hereby directs the City Attorney to <br /> petition the Court for reconsideration of its <br /> intended decision in light of the history of the <br /> Growth Management Element. <br /> <br />Section 3: The Planning Commission is hereby directed at <br /> its first meeting in March, 1983 to reconsider the <br /> recommendation which it made to the Council in May <br /> 1982 in connection with PUD Ordinance No. 1040 and <br /> to consider appropriate language which will make <br /> it absolutely clear that the development plan for <br /> Hacienda Business Park Phase I is compatible with <br /> and pursuant to the Growth Management Element of <br /> the General Plan, in particular its policy of <br /> increasing industrial and/or commercial development <br /> compatible with the job skills of the present and <br /> future residents of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED FEBRUARY 8, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING <br />VOTE <br /> <br />AYES Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Wood and Mayor Butler <br />NOES None <br /> <br /> APPROVED AS TO FOKM: <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk ~ ~ ~ <br /> <br /> Peter D. ~acDonald, City Attorney <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br /> <br />
