BACKGROUND <br /> In the FY2009 -2011 Operating Budgets, we are budgeting for the use of outside <br /> contractors for regular reoccurring custodial type duties. This is to provide custodial <br /> services coverage for City owned facilities and compensate for vacant Building <br /> Maintenance positions. In conjunction with the contract, staff will make concurrent <br /> operational adjustments that will: <br /> Provide more available staff time to perform "deep cleaning" or to service park <br /> restrooms <br /> Reduce carpet shampooing contracts <br /> Reduce staff overtime <br /> Establish a working schedule that increase facility maintenance coverage and <br /> provides continual improved quality of service. <br /> The RFP also included a provision that stipulates that the contractor shall develop a <br /> plan to use janitorial equipment that maximizes the effective reduction of building <br /> contaminants with minimal environmental impact. <br /> Submi,e y Fiscal Review: Approved <br /> A e 17 <br /> Daniel J. mi David P.
