Attachment 1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE RELATED TO PARKING CITATION <br /> PENALTIES <br /> WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code section 40203.5 authorizes the City Council to <br /> establish a schedule of penalties and late payment penalties for parking violations of the <br /> California Vehicle Code and Pleasanton Municipal Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, on May 19, 1992, the City Council adopted the Master Fee Schedule, <br /> Resolution No. 92 -100; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 1, 1993, the City Council amended the Master Fee Schedule by <br /> adopting Resolution 93 -68 to establish penalties for parking violations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the penalty for each parking violation includes a base penalty, <br /> administrative costs, and state mandated penalties to finance the construction of state <br /> courthouses and criminal justice facilities; and <br /> WHEREAS, during 2008, the California State Legislature enacted Senate Bill 1407 to <br /> provide for enhanced revenues to finance immediate and critical needs construction and <br /> renovation projects of court facilities throughout the State; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of SB 1407, the amount per parking citation collected that the <br /> City of Pleasanton must pay to the County of Alameda to finance state courthouse construction <br /> and criminal justice facilities increased to $9.50 per parking citation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City wishes to recover all of the state mandated penalties for parking <br /> citations, as well as administrative costs associated with parking offenses that are not currently <br /> captured in the penalties; and <br /> WHEREAS, since 1993, the penalties for parking violations have not been revised; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City wishes to increase the penalties for all enumerated parking <br /> violations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City also wishes to add to the Master Fee Schedule additional parking <br /> violations that are not currently included; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City also wishes to add to the Master Fee Schedule an administrative <br /> fee to process the cancellation of a parking citation in a case where the individual who received <br /> the citation provides proof of a valid placard at the time the citation was issued; and <br /> /1/ <br />
