WHEREAS, implementation of water use reduction in future years may be necessar~~ due to <br />depleted Zone 7 groundwater sroragc as a result of long term curtailment of <br />deliveries by DWR; and <br />WHF.RGAS, current wata~ shortage ordinances and regulations for the "I'ri-Valley Water <br />Retailers are not consistent; and <br />WHEREAS, the scope and authority of water shortage requirements for the City of <br />Pleasanton, City of Livermore and Dublin San Ramon Services District are <br />regulated under California Water Code Sections 350-359 and 375-378; and <br />WHEREAS, the scope and authority of wata~ shortage requirements for the California Water <br />Service Company arc regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission <br />(CPUC). <br />NOW '1'HEKEFORE, BE l1' RESOLVED THAT THE COMMITTEE OE VALLF,Y WATER <br />RETAILERS: <br />I. Desires to hove a consistent approach to water use restrictions and public messages <br />associated with water use resu~ictions among the Retailers; and. <br />2. Requests the representatives of City of Pleasanton, City of Livermore and the Dublin San <br />Ramon Services District to make and present to their respective legislative bodies, for <br />consideration and adoption, the appropriate amendments to their entity's current <br />ordinances and regulations to be consistent with the attached, and incorporated herein, <br />"Water Shortage Contingency Plan' ;and <br />3. Requests California Water Service Company-Livermore District, to administer its Water <br />Shortage Contingency Plan as consistently as possible, as allowed by the CPUC and <br />Company policy, with the other Rctailas; and <br />4. Requests staff of the Retailers to work cooperatively in making recommendations to their <br />respective legislative bodies regarding the activation and administration of the Water <br />Shortage Contingency Plan when required. <br />ADOPTED by the Committee of Valley Water Retailers at its special meeting held on the 25'x' <br />day of March 2009. <br />City of Livermore <br />City of Livermore <br />
