THE CITY OF 8
~# °' °' °- '"` CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT V
['L£~S~NTON®
May 5, 2009
Parks and Community Services
TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF THE FY
2009/2010 APPLICATIONS FOR (TDA) TRANSPORTATION
DEVELOPMENT ACT ARTICLE 4.5 FUNDS AND ALAMEDA COUNTY
MEASURE B FUNDS FOR THE PLEASANTON PARATRANSIT SERVICE
SUMMARY
The Transportation Development Act (TDA) provides for the disbursement of
transportation funds through the Alameda County Metropolitan Transportation
Commission (MTC) for community transit services. Funding is allocated from TDA
Article 4.5 and Alameda County Measure B (dedicated sales tax) funds. Eligible
agencies are required to file annual applications for allocation with MTC and the
Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA). For FY 2009/2010, the
City's projected allocation is $125,224 ($40,743 TDA; $84,481 Measure B). These funds
will be used to offset the proposed FY 2009/2010 Paratransit Service budget of
$539,567.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council adopt a Resolution authorizing the Director of Parks and
Community Services to submit FY 2009/2010 applications for Transportation
Development Act (TDA) Article 4.5 funds from the Metropolitan Transportation
Commission (MTC) and Alameda County Measure B Funds from the Alameda County
Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA).
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
Should the City receive a TDA Article 4.5 funds ($40,743) and Measure B allocation
($84,481) for FY 2009/2010, the net would offset the proposed FY 09/10 Paratransit
budget of $539,567by $125,224, thus a 23% savings in the City's General Fund.
