ATTACHMF,NT 1 <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO <br />AMEND SECTION 11.36.210 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO <br />ESTABLISH A THREE HOUR LIMITED TIME PARKING ZONE <br />WHEREAS, Section 11.36.210 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code sets forth various <br />limited time parking zones and provides that the City Council, by resolution, may designate a <br />street as a limited time parking zone; and <br />WHEREAS, the Municipal Code allows twenty minute, one hour, two hour, and four hour <br />parking zones; and <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Downtown Association has requested an additional three <br />hour parking zone to provide additional parking options for downtown businesses and their <br />patrons. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 11.36.210 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br />"11.36.210 Authority to Establish Limited Time Parking Zones: <br />Whenever any resolution of the city designates any street or portion thereof as a limited <br />time parking zone, the city traffic engineer shall erect appropriate signs, meters or <br />markings. Such limited time parking zones shall not become effective until and unless <br />signs, parking meters, or curb markings are in place indicating such time limits <br />consistent with the following regulations: <br />(Subsections A-D, no change) <br />E. Three-hour Parking. When authorized signs, parking meters are in place giving <br />notice thereof, no operator of any vehicle shall park the vehicle between the hours of <br />9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. of any day except Sundays and holidays for a period of time <br />longer than three hours." <br />Section 2. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) <br />days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published in <br />the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the <br />City Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br />Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its passage and <br />adoption. <br />
