THE CITY OF <br />-° ~~° ~~ ~- '"" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />['L£~S~4NTONo <br />May 5, 2009 <br />Community Development <br />Traffic Engineering Division <br />TITLE: INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 11.36.210 OF <br />THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH A THREE HOUR <br />LIMITED TIME PARKING ZONE <br />SUMMARY <br />Section 11.36.210 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code sets forth various limited time <br />parking zones and provides that the City Council, by resolution, may designate a street <br />as a limited time parking zone. Currently, the Municipal Code allows twenty minute, <br />one-hour, two-hour, and four-hour parking zones. The Pleasanton Downtown <br />Association has requested an additional three-hour parking zone category to provide <br />additional parking options for downtown businesses and their patrons. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends introducing the attached ordinance to amend Section 11.36.210 of <br />the Pleasanton Municipal Code to establish athree-hour limited time parking zone <br />category. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There will be no significant costs related to ordinance amendment. Future resolutions <br />designating streets as three-hour parking zones would require limited term parking <br />signage at a minimal cost to the City. <br />
