Page 3 <br />Memo to Mayor and Councilmembers <br />May 1, 2009 <br />briefed in the Cotu~t of Appeal and the League of California Cities, on behalf of cities and counties <br />statewide, tiled an amicus brief in support of the County. (Because of the League's involvement, <br />individual cities were not requested to join the amicus effort.) <br />Accordingly, along the same vein as in number 2 above, staff is recommending that Council support the <br />litigation efforts of other local agencies that are seeking to exercise more control over the conversion <br />process. <br />Conclusion <br />The aforementioned options should be viewed as being complementary to staff recommendation on the <br />attached Staff Report, which was previously distributed to the City Council in Apri12009. <br />~~ G <br />Michael II.
