funds of approximately $90,000 which will greatly irnprove the operational aspects of the <br />proj cct. <br />In November 2003, the City Council approved an 11-member task force to study the potential for <br />redeveloping Kottinger Place. "Phis is part of along-term effort to plan for the eventual <br />replacement of these units, which comprise the only housing units administered by the <br />Pleasanton (lousing Authority. The project may also involve an adjacent senior development, <br />Pleasanton Gardens (40 units located across the street at 251 Kottinger Drive). <br />The task force includes representatives from the Housing and Parks and Recreation Commissions <br />as well as six at-large members. The group met regularly during 2004 and 2005 and obtained <br />consultant services to analyze processing and financing issues for the project [n early 2005, the <br />City Council reviewed inlormation collected by the task force and confirmed its interest in <br />moving forward with the project. Christian Church I [omcs, a nonprofit housing developer, was <br />brought on in a consultant capacity in 2006 to help guide the task force through the project <br />scoping phase. Meetings arc continuing in 2009. 7 he task force is considering replacing one or <br />both of the existing developments with a larger number of units, using the current affordability <br />levels as a minimum for any future project. Due to the scope of this project, it will likely extend <br />beyond the term of the five-year Consolidated Plan. <br />No resident initiatives are deemed necessary in the live-year period. However, the City continues <br />to work with the Pleasanton Flousing Authority on the preparation of annual Housing [authority <br />[~gcncy Plan update required by HUD.
