Presentation of Commendations to Brett Busch, Lisa Busch, Barbara McCarrick and John <br />Petrovich for their lifesaving efforts <br />Councilmember McGovern presented a commendation to Brett Busch, Lisa Busch, Barbara <br />McCarrick, and John Petrovich for their lifesaving efforts which exemplify the traits of a community <br />of character and sets an example for all. <br />Sabina Imrie, Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD), detailed the actions that saved the <br />life of David Aimar on November 15, 2008. She introduced LPFD members Craig Berchtold, Craig <br />Hoover, and Steve Shamlin who were present that morning. <br />David Aimar thanked the City of Pleasanton for recognizing the selfless actions of his neighbors <br />without which he would not have been present tonight. <br />11. Public Comment <br />Kathy Dowding read the names of 9 soldiers most recently killed in Iraq, said that the media <br />coverage of Tri-Valley local Sean Diamond's death was shockingly thin and late, and she asked the <br />public to join Pleasantonian's for Peace at its next vigil on March 11, 2009. <br />Steve Dowding asked the City Council to reconsider its recent approval of the Stoneridge Drive <br />Extension and suggested that similar economic results could be accomplished with Option 1 of the <br />Compromise Plan. If the Council believes that fiscal responsibility calls for concurrent construction <br />of the extension and Staples Ranch Project, he asked that they authorize a supplemental EIR with <br />the goal of completing analysis prior to annexation and providing the greatest transparency for the <br />community. He also encouraged the Council to closely monitor the allocation of funds from <br />Alameda County. <br />Fred Norman said the sixth anniversary of the war is approaching and the City Council has yet to <br />take a stance on it.
