BOX 909
axa~s127
Re: Foothill Road Improvements for Tract 5848
Dear Bill:
As Z am sure you are aware by now, a report was sent to
the City Council addressing the street lights on Foothill
Road that were to be installed with your subdivision. It
was the opinion of the Council that Foothill Road should
have street lights only at street intersections. This
means that only the two lights on either side of Golden
Eagle Way and the most northerly light near Longview
Drive may remain. The other poles are to be removed.
It is our opinion that you have fulfilled your obligation
to install the street lights on Foothill Road.
Therefore, we have directed our street light maintenance
company to remove the poles at no cost to you. The poles
will be taken to our corporate yard at Sunol Boulevard.
Should the Council change its opinion some time in the
future, the City will reinstall the poles.
It is also our intent to abandon the existing foundations
in such a way that they will be safe but still allow the
reinstallation of poles with minimal work. Again, this
would be done at no charge to you.
The three lights that are to remain (Pole Numbers 5672,
5681 and 5682) should be energized by PG&E as soon as
possible. The luminaires for these poles should be cut-
off type 150 watt, high pressure sodium, with a Type II
pattern. It is my understanding that PG&E does not
charge extra for the installation of the cut-off heads.
Thank you again for the time that your
doing the necessary testing of the
lights. If you have any questions
matter, please feel free to give me a
Very truly yours,
,d' ph Elliott
Director of Public Works
and Utilities
cc: Ted Fairfield
company spent in
different street
concerning this
call.
