THE CITY OF <br />~`° °` °- "' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />[~L£~S~4NTON~ <br />April 7, 2009 <br />Community Development <br />Engineering Division <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF A CONSULTANT AGREEMENT WITH RRM DESIGN <br />GROUP IN THE AMOUNT OF $123,350 TO PROVIDE EVALUATION <br />SERVICES FOR THE SIDEWALK/ADA RAMP ASSESSMENT -CITYWIDE, <br />CIP NO. 085034 <br />SUMMARY <br />The Sidewalk/ADA assessment -City wide, CIP No. 085034, will provide information <br />regarding the condition of ADA ramps and sidewalks throughout the City. The <br />information received from this evaluation will assist the City in determining the <br />appropriate budget to install new ADA ramps and to repair sidewalks for tripping <br />hazards. Due to the specialized nature of the survey requirements, a consulting firm was <br />deemed necessary, and after a consultant selection process that evaluated proposals <br />from five firms, RRM Design Group of Oakdale was determined to be the best qualified <br />firm to provide the necessary services. RRM Design Group has proposed to perform the <br />work fora "not-to-exceed" amount of $123,350. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve the consultant agreement with RRM Design Group to provide sidewalk <br />and ADA ramp evaluation services for the subject project. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the consultant agreement with RRM <br />Design for anot-to-exceed amount of $123,350. <br />3. Authorize the transfer of $23,350 from CIP No. 085005 (Annual Sidewalk and <br />Intersection Ramp Installation) to CIP 085034. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Funding for this project was budgeted through the Capital Improvement Program in <br />fiscal year 2007-2008 in the amount of $100,000. In order to cover the cost of the <br />contract shortfall, staff is recommending the transfer of $23,350 from a similar project, <br />Annual Sidewalk and Intersection Ramp Installation, CIP No. 085005. <br />
