Effect of Concurrent Extension on Aesthetic and Visual Resources
While the Concurrent Extension would widen segments of Stoneridge Drive at an
earlier date than the Deferred Extension, the Concurrent Extension would not
add new construction or roadways elsewhere on the project site that would result
in new impacts to scenic resources, visual character, or light and glare. For
example, the earlier addition of a second bridge under the Concurrent Extension
adjacent to the first bridge proposed by the Deferred Extension will not
appreciably alter the visual character of the project site, particularly when the
second bridge is, functionally, a widening of the first bridge. Accordingly, revising
the Project to include the Concurrent Extension would not result in new
significant aesthetics and visual quality impacts, or substantial increases in
previously identified aesthetics and visual quality impacts. This conclusion is
supported by the analysis of the impacts of the Existing Specific Plan Alternative
on visual quality, which assumed Concurrent Extension and concluded that the
visual quality impacts of the alternative would result in the same impacts as the
proposed project, which assumed Deferred Extension.
Air Quality
Findings Regarding Significant Impacts
1.
