As a result of negotiations between the City of Pleas- anton and the City of San Francisco's Water Department, we were instructed to revise our substantially pre- viously completed designs involving Harrison and Augustine Avenues. Construction was extended to include portions of existing Bernal Avenue, which was not previously included in the projectscope. Drainage and Utility provisions at South Verona Road Underpass (County area). The scope of our services specifically excluded any civil engineering, grading, paving, or rela~ed work at the above site; our responsi- bility covered design of the bridge structure only. However, we were requested by the County Road Depart- ment to assist in arranging for the relocation of overhead PG&E lines, and for grading associated with removal of the existing bridge structure and its backfill. Provisions for undergrounding existing utilities. After review of our roadway plans for Bernal Avenue and Del Valle Parkway, PG&E and Pacific Bell requested that provisions be made to relocate and expand their facilities in underground locations at Del Valle Parkway and Bernal Avenue. This work was added to the plans and the specifications, and required close coordination with both utility companies. Changes and revisions at Del Valle Parkway Underpass. After plans had been substantially completed, we received a request to provide a left-turn pocket, driveway entrance, and driveway for the Amador Valley Joint Union High School District opposite Station 89. This required revisions to previously completed grading and paving plans, pavement elevations, median details (including provision for left-turn pocket opposite Station 89), and landscaping and irrigation plans, as well as the takeoff of quantities.
