THE CITY OF
- - ! ° ~ "'~ ~'" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
~L~~S~4NTONo
March 17, 2009
City Manager
TITLE: APPROVE CONTRACTUAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH MIG, INC.
TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH THE YOUTH MASTER PLAN UPDATE
SUMMARY
The Youth Master Plan is a priority identified in the adopted City Council Work Plan.
Pleasanton's Youth Master Plan (Master Plan) document was completed in 1999. The
creation of this plan also initiated the establishment of the Youth Master Plan
Implementation Committee (YMPIC). The YMPIC continues to have oversight of the
Master Plan and has completed an audit of its current goals and objectives. To update
the Master Plan, the services of a professional consulting firm are necessary. Staff
issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) and recommends the services of MIG, Inc. to
provide assistance through the pubic engagement process and the production of an
updated Master Plan.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve a supplemental appropriation in the
amount of $39,500 and authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contract for
services agreement in the amount of $39,500.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
This is an unbudgeted expenditure that requires a supplemental appropriation by the
City Council. If approved, funding from contingency is available for this purpose. The
total cost of the proposed contract will not exceed $39,500.
