5.2 <br /> <br />Field Trainin~ Officer Pay <br /> <br />Qualified field training officers shall receive an amount equal to <br />five percent (5%) of their base monthly pay for each month they <br />devote five (5) days or more to the training of new full time or <br />reserve officers. <br /> <br />5.3 <br /> <br />On Call Pay <br /> <br />Employees who on their scheduled days off duty are placed on an <br />on call status by a supervisor for a minimum period of eight (8) <br />hours or more shall receive an amount equal to fifteen percent <br />(15%) of their hourly base rate of pay for each hour spent on call. <br /> <br />5.4 <br /> <br />Entrance Salary <br /> <br />The entrance salary for a nex~ employee entering the City service <br />shall be the minimum salary for the class to which he/she is <br />appointed. ~rnen circumstances warrant, the Appointing Authority <br />may authorize original appointment or reinstatement at other than <br />the minimum rate. <br /> <br />5.5 <br /> <br />Conversion of Pay Rates <br /> <br />Any monthly rate of pay may be tonverted. into any equivalent rate. <br />of pay or to any other time basis when, in the judgment of the <br />City Manager, such a conversion is advisable. In determining the <br />equivalent amounts on different time basis, the City Manager shall <br />provide tables or regulations for use in converting monthly salaries <br />to hourly rates, as well as for calculating hourly rates. <br /> <br />5.6 <br /> <br />Salary Advancement <br /> <br />Permanent and probationary employees serving in regular established <br />positions shall be advanced from the "A" Step to the "B" Step in <br />their respective classifications after completion of t~elve (12) <br />months of full time satisfactory service, and thereafter shall be <br />advanced to the ne~<t higher step after co.~npletion of one (1) year <br />of full time satisfactory service, in each of the salary steps for <br />the classification until the top of the range is reached. No salary <br />advancement shall be made so as to e~ceed any ma.'-~imum rate estab- <br />lished in the pay plan for the class to x~hich the advanced employae's <br />position is allocated. <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br /> <br />
