2.2 <br /> <br />2.3 <br /> <br />The Union for which dues are deducted may be required to pay <br />upon the written demand of the City a service charge of <br />Five Cents (5¢) per name per month, but in no event not more <br />than Five Percent (5%) of the dues. <br /> <br />The employee's authorization request shall be in the <br />following terms: <br />" Date: <br />You are hereby authorized and requested to deduct from <br />wages due me such amount as which will total the current <br />amount of my Union dues as reported to you by the Operating <br />Engineers Union Local No. 3 and to make such deductions for <br />each and every succeeding month unless and until I revoke <br />this assignment in writing. You are hereby authorized <br />and you are tO pay the total amount deducted each month <br />to Operating Engineers Local Union ~3. <br /> <br />This assignment is voluntary. <br /> <br />Signature <br /> <br />CoMmuniCation with Employees <br /> <br />Any representative of the Union shall give notice to the <br />Police Chief when contacting City employees during the <br />duty period of the employees, provide~ that solicitation <br />for membership or other internal employee organization <br />business shall be conducted only during the off-duty hours <br />of all employees concerned. Prearrangement for routine <br />contact may be made by agreement between the Union and the <br />Police Chief and when made shall continue until revoked. <br /> <br />Bulletin Boards <br /> <br />The Union may use portions of City bulletin boards under <br />the following conditions: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />All materials must receive the approval of the <br />department or division head in charge of the <br />departmental bulletin board. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />All materials must be dated and must identify the <br />organization that published them. <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />The actual posting of materials will be done by the <br />City as soon as possible after they have been approved. <br />Unless special arrangements are made, materials <br />posted will be removed 31 days after the publication <br />date. Materials which the Police Chief considers <br />objectionable will not be posted, provided, however, <br />~he Police Chief shall first discuss this denial <br />with the City Manager. <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
