16.7 <br /> <br />16.8 <br /> <br />16.9 <br /> <br />Termination of Educational Incentive Pay <br /> <br />Educational incentive Pay shall be terminated at such <br />time as the employee receiving educational incentive pay <br />is promoted to or otherwise placed in a position requiring <br />the educational level which he currently possesses or <br />a higher educational level. <br /> <br />Tuition Reimbursement <br /> <br />Only employees enrolled in the Educational incentive <br />Plan shall be eligible for tuition reimbursement. <br /> <br />Tuition shall be reimbursed in the amount and at the <br />rate for internal degrees levied by Hayward State <br />University at the time of the employee's enrollment <br />in the courses for which tuition reimbursement is <br />requested. However, the maximum amount of tuition <br />reimbursement shall not exceed $300.00 per year per <br />em. ployee. <br /> <br />C e <br /> <br />Tuition .reimbursement shall not be received for any <br />individual courses (or class) not successfully com- <br />pleted with a grade of "C" or better. <br /> <br />Employees submitted requests for tuition reimburse- <br />ment shall provide the Personnel Officer an official <br />receipt from the college or university verifying the <br />payment of tuition and an official transcr%pt of the <br />grades received for which tuition is requested. <br /> <br />Book Reimbursement <br /> <br />Employees enrolled in the Educational incentive Plan <br />shall be eligible for the reimbursement of the books <br />required for those classes taken as part of their <br />approved educational program. The amount reimbursed <br />shall be the purchase price of the books less the monies <br />received from their resale. No reimbursement for books <br />shall be received for any class not successfully com- <br />p!eted with a grade of "C" or better. <br /> <br />Emoloyees submitting requests for reimbursements for <br />books shall submit to the Personnel Officer tile original <br />purchase receipt in addition to the receipt showing the <br />monies received through resale of said books. <br /> <br />if, however, the books are determined by the Personnel <br />Officer to be an asset to the City, the Personnel Officer <br />may elect at his discret. ion to reimburse the employee the <br />full cost of said books, the latter becoming the possession <br />of the City. The Personnel Officer's decision regarding <br />the purchase of textbooks shall be final. <br /> <br />-17- <br /> <br /> <br />
