NOTE: Job relatedness shall pertain to both the relationship of the field of study to the position held by the employee and, the relevance of the edu- cational level to the employee's position. Educational Standards Committee An Educational Standards Committee comprised of a representative of the Police Officers' Association, Assistant to the City Manager and the Chief of Police shall be established for the purposes of: Determining the eligibility of each employee to enroll in the Educational Incentive Program. Determining in advance of enrollment in the Edu- cational.incentive Program the job relatedness of the educational level the employee intends to pursue. NOTE: The burden of proof as to the job relatedness of specific educational levels shall be upon the employee. The Educational Standards Committee may require the employee to furnish any docu- mentation deemed necessary in the Committee's determination of job relatedness. Determining successful completion of the educational level for which educational incentive pay is to be received. Enrollment Procedures Employees wishing to enroll in the Educational Incentive Plan must do the following: A. NOt later than 45 'days prior to enrolling in a junior college, college or university, make written appli- cat:ie, n %-0 fine Education Standards ConmLi~kae in order that the Com_mittee may: (1) determine the emp!oyee's eligibility to enroll in the Education Incentive Plan and (2) determine the job re].atedness of the educa- hiehal level to be pursued.
