A map outlining areas of amplifying or damping <br /> effects of unconsolidated materials will be Dresented. <br /> Methods described in Hays (1980, Procedures for <br /> Estimating Earthquake Ground Motions), and Borscherdt <br /> (1975, Studies for Seismic Zonation of the San <br /> Francisco Bay Region) will be used. <br /> <br />4. Areas with the potential for ground failure due to <br /> <br /> landslides, liquefaction, seismic settlement, <br /> differential compaction, and lurching will be <br /> described. These seismic effects will be discussed <br /> in the text, and where feasible presented on maps. <br /> Landslide areas will be identified from published <br /> sources (USGS, CDMG, theses, consultant's reports, <br /> and limited air photo interDretation). <br /> <br />Earthquake Induced Flooding (failure of dams) <br /> <br />1.
