4 <br />THE CITY OF <br />~~ °~ °~ -~- "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£~S~4NTON4 <br />February 24, 2009 <br />City Manager's Office <br />Community Development Department <br />TITLE: CONSIDERATION OF WHETHER THE FULL EXTENSION OF <br />STONERIDGE DRIVE SHOULD BE A PART OF THE STONERIDGE <br />DRIVE SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT/STAPLES RANCH PROJECT <br />AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUESTED BY THE CITY <br />COUNCIL REGARDING THE STAPLES RANCH ENVIRONMENTAL <br />AND PLANNING DOCUMENTS <br />SUMMARY <br />At your meeting of February 3, the City Council requested additional information <br />pertaining to the planning and environmental documents regarding the proposed <br />Staples Ranch development. The planning and environmental documents include the <br />Stoneridge Drive Specific Plan Amendment/Staples Ranch (SPA), the Stoneridge Drive <br />Specific Plan Amendment/Staples Ranch Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and its <br />related documents, and the Zoning/Prezoning ordinance all of which are detailed in the <br />February 3, 2009 agenda report. This report provides options that the Council may <br />elect to consider as part of its discussion regarding the potential timing for the extension <br />of Stoneridge Drive from its current terminus at Trevor Parkway to EI Charro Road. <br />Specific information includes a description of analysis included in the EIR concerning <br />the full extension of the road and a brief description regarding regional cooperation <br />efforts regarding regional transportation issues. In addition to information related to the <br />Stoneridge Drive extension, this report also provides the Council with an update and <br />clarification regarding questions raised at the February 3 meeting regarding the San <br />Joaquin spearscale. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />This is a report provided in response to City Council questions raised at the February 3 <br />City Council meeting. Staff recommendations regarding the Staples Ranch planning <br />and environmental documents are set forth in the attached February 3, 2009 agenda <br />report concerning Staples Ranch. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no financial impact as a result of this action. <br />
