The sketch plan will <br />serve as a "dulmny" to elicit conm~ents and suggestions <br />for a].ternative uses of vacant lands and areas of <br />special concern. The sketch plan is the first step in <br />making policy decisions regarding the issues developed <br />in Phase I. <br /> <br />6.1 Review with staff <br /> <br />6.2 <br /> <br />A public meeting will be held to explain and <br />critique the sketch plan in order to develop <br />information needed to formulate General Plan <br />alternative s. <br /> <br />TASK 7: <br /> <br />Formulate Land Use and Policy Alternatives <br /> <br />Incorporating suggestions generated from the sketch <br />plan, three ].and use alternatives wj_ll be developed. <br />These alternatives will clarify the City's options <br />regarding the location and density of future development <br />on vacant parcels and in areas of .special concern <br />e.g. southeast Pleasanton. General Plan policies will <br />be developed which articulate the land use patterns <br />established in each alternative. For example, a land use <br />pa'ttern featuring low and medium density residential <br />development might be accompanied by policj..es which conti. n'~e <br />the current population benchmarks.
