Options for Conducting the General Plan Update <br /> <br /> Staff reconunends that Council approve Option A at <br />its meeting of March 27, and: <br /> <br /> 1. Approve an allocation of $149,150 to be included in <br />the FY 1984-85 budget for a General Plan update. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize staff to enter into a contract with Chandler Lee <br />to perform the services outlined in the enclosed work program and <br />include the provision of office space in or adjacent to City Hall for <br />the General Plan update. <br /> <br /> 3. Adopt the proposed schedule of Tasks shown in <br />Figure l, including tentative dates for Council review and public <br />meetings. <br /> <br />B. Options for Including IGPR Conunittee's Recommendations <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Counc'il approve Option 3 <br />which entails the following actions: <br /> <br /> 1. Agree to ~nitiate General Plan Amendments (GPA) for <br />the Conunittee's Land Use and FAR recon~endations at its June GPA <br />hearing. <br /> <br /> 2. Adopt a resolution at that time to consider the Com- <br />mittee's recommendations along with existing City policy in the <br />event that development applications are made during the time in <br />which the General Plan update is being conducted. <br /> <br /> 3. Direct staff to include consideration of the Committee's <br />recommendations as part of the General Plan update process for possible <br />inclusion in the final General Plan document scheduled for adoption in <br />August of ]-985. <br /> <br />Robert J..
