The City is currently involved in two studies relating to sewage <br />capacity, both of which are subject to California environmental laws <br />(CEQA) and local voter approval. A study of short-term sewage needs <br />is being conducted by LAVW~ and a long-term study is being conducted <br />by DSRSD and Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Action 4 - Continue to stipulate, as a condition of approval, that <br />the City does not guarantee the availability of sewage capacity <br />at the time of development approval. <br /> <br />All City PUD ordinances currently include and will include in the future <br />this stipulation. <br /> <br />F-3: Health and social services element <br /> <br />Action 2 - Expand the fire department's emergency medical training <br />unit to provide full trauma services. <br /> <br />The City is entering into an agreement with Alameda County to form <br />a paramedic services district to provide these services. The district <br />is expected to be formed by July 1, 1984. <br /> <br />Action 3 - Study the need for a new hospital facility to serve <br />the Tri-Valley area. <br /> <br />The California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development <br />has granted Valley Memorial Hospital a certificate of need to begin <br />the process of constructing a 94-bed acute care hospital on a site <br />at West Las Positas and Santa Rita in Pleasanton. The next step will <br />be studies to determine the financial feasibility of the project. <br /> <br />F-4: Central Business District Improvements <br /> <br />Action la Adopt the Downtown Improvement District and the Downtown <br />Revitalization plans proposed by the Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />The City Council approved the Business Improvement District and <br />improvements are underway. The Chamber's study is still in progress <br />and is expected in May at which time the Council will be requested <br />to implement its recommendation s. <br /> <br />H-5: Fiscal monitoring system <br /> <br />Action I - Allocate funds for the purchase of microcomputers to <br />evaluate fiscal impacts in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />The City Council has allocated $50,000 in FY 1983-84 for the purchase <br />of a system which will be used by the City Finance Director and other <br />departments. The system is expected to be installed this summer. <br /> <br />B, Conmnittee's highest priority recommendations - February 28, <br /> 1984. (see Section III for staff evaluation of these items.
