3. Incorporate the policies and standards into PUD ordinances. C. Staff Evaluation 1. The need for revised environmental policies and standards State law requires local governments to review their General Plans including the policies and standards of each of the nine mandatory elements on a regular basis. One of the major re~:ommendations t~f the Industrial General Plan Review Committee is to rewrite 'the entire General Plan and incorporate revised policies, standards and land uses based on changes occuring since the last General Plan was adopted. Since the Committee is recommending that 34 other changes in addition to these environmental standards be incorporated in a new General t~lan document, it would seem logical to combine al 1 the pr~posed recommendations relating to the General Plan in one effort, provided that they are internally consistent, as required by State law. DI Staff Recommendation City Council should direct staff to include these environmental policies and standards as part of the work program fr~r the proposed General Plan Update.
