Co~nercial, Industrial, Multiple Residential and <br />Schools - Jones 3760 or Rich 76 or approved equal. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Spacing shall be as required by the Fire Marshal but <br />generally as follows in urban areas: (In other than <br />urban areas the Fire Marshall should be consulted.) <br /> <br />One hydrant within 250' of any existing or proposed <br />structure. <br />In addition, two hydrants within 500' of any commercial <br />multiple, residential, industrial or school building. <br />Dry lines or on-site hydrants may be required for <br />high density uses or excessively deep lots and shall <br />be installed in accordance with the Fire Marshal's <br />requirements. <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />Location in the street right-of-way shall be 30" from the <br />face of curb in the planter strip or sidewalk when full <br />10 foot sidewalk is required as in commercial areas, or <br />24" behind sidewalk where there is no planter strip, <br />and on the extension of side lot lines when possible. <br /> <br />2-11 Blowoffs: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Permanent blowoffs shall be installed at all deadends, <br />whether temporary or permanent, and at all low points in <br />the line. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Temporary blowoffs shall be installed as necessary to <br />pressure test and chlorinate. <br /> <br />2-12 Air and Vacuum Release Valves: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />The system shall be designed to avoid the necessity for <br />pressure regulating valves insofar as possible. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />When pressure regulation is necessary because of permanent <br />zones of high pressure, individual valves installed and <br />maintained by the property owners will be required. For <br />temporary zones of high pressure, regulatory valves on <br />mains may be allowed at the discretion of the City Engineer. <br /> <br />2-13 Pressure Regulating Valves: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />The system shall be designed to avoid the necessity for <br />pressure regulating valves insofar as possible. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />When pressure regulation is necessary because of permanent <br />zones of high pressure, individual valves installed and <br />maintained by the property owners will be required.
