AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF ALA~DA <br /> FOR T~NSPORTATION OF PRISONERS VIA <br /> THE STATEWIDE PRISONER T~NSPORTATION SYSTEM <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT is made this day of , 1984, by and <br /> between the County of Alameda, a political subdivision of the State of <br /> California ("County"), and the City of Pleasanton, a municipal corporation <br /> ("City"), with reference to the following recitals: <br /> <br /> 1. The Sheriff's Department of the County of Los Angeles operates a <br /> Statewide Prisoner Transportation System with scheduled weekly trips <br /> throughout the State of California. <br /> <br /> 2. The County has a contract with the County of Los Angeles Sheriff's <br /> Department for the performance of transportation services of their <br /> wanted persons held by other law enforcement agencies within the <br /> State of California. Said contract, marked Exhibit A, is attached <br /> hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. <br /> <br /> 3. The City desires to use the Statewide Prisoner Transportation System <br /> for purposes and according to the conditions and restrictions <br /> described in Exhibit A. <br /> <br /> 4. The County is willing and able to perform the services necessary for <br /> the City to participate in the Statewide Prisoner Transportation <br /> System, in exchange for payment of a service charge as hereinafter <br /> described. <br /> <br />ACCORDINGLY, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The County, upon the request of the City, will arrange for transportation <br /> to the County, on a space available basis, through the use of the County <br /> of Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Transportation System, persons <br /> arrested and held by other law enforcement agencies within the State, in <br /> accordance with Exhibit A hereto. <br /> <br />2. Wben the City desires transportation, it will phone the Sergeant of the <br /> Service Bureau or his designee at (415) 577-1051, between the hours of <br /> 0700 and 1500, Monday through Friday, requesting informally that a <br /> prisoner be transported to the County. <br /> <br />3. County's Sheriff's Department Service Bureau will determine from the Los <br /> Angeles Sheriff's Transportation Bureau if there is available space in the <br /> bus transport system. <br /> <br />4. County will inform City accordingly and, if City desires transportation, <br /> shall then notify the County in the form of a printed message via the <br /> Police Information Teletype System ("PIN") requesting transportation of <br /> specifically identified individual and will include the name of the <br /> prisoner, his sex, race, age, location where being held, charge(s) being <br /> held under, amount of bail, and the name of the court that issued the <br /> warrant for his arrest. The message will also indicate the date of arrest <br /> and when the prisoner will be available for transportation to the County. <br /> <br /> <br />
