Commissioner Fox requested clarification on the Commission's direction to staff with <br />respect to the Johnston appeal. She inquired whether staff was asked to meet with <br />both parties or whether the applicant was supposed to approach the City with a plan. <br />Chair Blank referred the inquiry to staff. <br />Mr. Dolan clarified that based on the Commission's discussion, staff was to contact <br />the parties and try to get a resolution. <br />Commissioner Pearce requested that the sixth sentence of the third paragraph on <br />page 26 be modified to read as follows: "She stated that she would like to make the <br />parties whole a~ but that her initial inclination is to allow the wall up to four feet <br />high...." <br />Commissioner O'Connor noted that the Roll Call Vote on page 3 should list his name <br />under the "Ayes" vote. <br />Chair Blank stated that with respect to the Call to Order, the Commission generally <br />wants to start the meetings promptly at 7:00 p.m. He noted that he would like the <br />Minutes to reflect that he had announced that evening that the meeting would start <br />later to allow the Commissioners additional time to review some documents that they <br />had just received. <br />Chair Blank requested that the fourth sentence of the second paragraph on page 26 <br />be modified to read as follows: "...but he had mentioned that he had purchased <br />three homes in the past." <br />Commissioner Pearce moved to approve the Minutes of September 10, 2008, <br />as amended. <br />Commissioner Narum seconded the motion. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE: <br />AYES: Commissioners Blank, Fox, Narum, O'Connor, and Pearce. <br />NOES: None. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br />RECUSED: None. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Olson. <br />The motion passed, and the Minutes of September 10, 2008 were approved, as <br />amended. <br />Chair Blank advised that the Commission meetings are now available in pod cast <br />and asked the Commissioners to be attentive with the on and off switch of their <br />microphones. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES, September 24, 2008 Page 2 of 41 <br />
