Chair Blank stated that he has taken kids from soccer games and baseball teams <br />to pizza parlors where there are open beers on the table, sometimes in the back <br />and front rooms, and here the City is placing a higher standard for SuperFranks <br />that does not apply to anyone else. <br />Commissioner Narum reiterated that she felt there was a huge difference here in <br />that parents are taking kids in and putting them in a room where they can play, <br />and then there is beer and wine, and kids could get into trouble without <br />supervision. She indicated that she wants to approve the permit because the <br />facility was clean, and she liked what she saw, but she wants to make sure what <br />is being done is still okay in six months. <br />Commissioner Fox concurred that Commissioner Narum had some good points, <br />as three to four years ago, the Commission voted to allow a hair salon on Santa <br />Rita Road to serve beer and wine because the patrons are adults, but it was not <br />a restaurant. She added that Commissioner Olson referred to this project as a <br />restaurant. <br />Chair Blank asked for the vote on the item <br />ROLL CALL VOTE: <br />AYES: Commissioners Blank, O'Connor, and Olson. <br />NOES: Commissioners Narum and Fox. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br />RECUSED: None. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Pearce. <br />Resolution No. PC-2008-33 approving PCUP-222 was entered and adopted <br />as motioned. <br />Commissioner Fox left the meeting at this point. <br />b. PDR-717, Tarlochan Sidhu (continued) <br />Application for design review approval to construct an approximately <br />4,716-square-foot two-story single-family home on an approximately <br />18,285-square-foot site located at 6047 Sycamore Terrace. Zoning for the <br />property is PUD-LDR (Planned Unit Development -Low Density <br />Residential) District. <br />Marion Pavan presented the staff report and described the background, scope, <br />and layout of the proposed project. <br />Mr. Pavan noted that there was a clerical error in the staff report and that the size <br />of the property is 17,896 square feet reflecting the PUD development plan.
