~ . f.:.`
Ms. Decker explained that she would not require a grading plan as that would hold up the
project when everyone knows what the end result would be which is flat with a retaining
wall at the end. She would rather see the cost of a grading plan be put into the plant
materials to affect screening.
Ms. Decker expressed her appreciation to everyone for the discussions that have taken
place regazding what the actual goal was and how to get there.
THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED
Ms. Decker stated she would not approve a grading plan. She recognized that the retaining
wall, which measures four feet in height, does not need a planning entitlement or building
permit. She understood a permit was issued and the wall was placed accordingly. She
stated that this retaining wall does protect the 15 foot easement.
Ms Decker stated that the material left on site be used to soften increases in height at the
corners.
Ms. Decker agreed that alternative materials would be used that aze not on the plans. She
did accept the conceptual plans. She stated that the perimeter must be mixed with
24-inch boxes of Pittosponun Eugeniodes, and if not available, 15-gallon containers would
be acceptable.
Ms. Decker recommended that the applicant place for screening, Pittosporum Eugeniodes
in the back of the yazd, either in a straight line, a staggered line or create openings where
landscaping can be placed using additional plant materials that meet all the criteria for
screening.
Ms. Decker stated that staff would go on-site to see the actual look before the plants aze
planted in the ground.
Ms. Decker stated that all plants must be irrigated. She waived the requirement to provide
an irrigation plan, but expects to see a drip irrigation system.
Ms. Decker stated that staff would complete a site visit to confirm placement of all plant
material before planting in the ground.
THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS REOPENED
Ms. Decker stated construction hours would be 8:OOa.m. to S:OOp.m., Monday through
Saturday.
Ms. Decker stated that the installation of the planting materials for the screening azea
should be ready in four weeks.
GA Heanng, YDK-715 July 10, 2008
