CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 85-568 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR MARCH 4, <br /> 1986 REGARDING INITIATIVE ORDINANCE REGARDING <br /> PROPOSITION 4 REVENUES AND RELATED MATTERS <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Call for Special Election. Pursuant to Elections <br /> Code Section 4017, the City Council is authorized to <br /> present initiative ordinances to the voters for their <br /> consideration. Pursuant to Elections Code Section 4017, <br /> the City Council hereby calls a special election to be <br /> held on March 4, 1986. At said election, the voters of <br /> Pleasanton shall decide whether or not to adopt the <br /> proposed ordinance attached hereto. <br /> <br />Section 2: Ballot Language. The ballot language shall be as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> "Shall the ordinance changing the appropriation limit <br /> and providing for public improvement projects including <br /> a new library and the Valley Avenue extension be <br /> adopted?" <br /> <br /> YES NO <br /> <br />Section 3: Submission of Ballot Arguments and Impartial <br /> Analysis. <br /> <br /> a. The City Council hereby establishes December 20, <br /> 1985 as the last day for submission of direct <br /> arguments for or against the proposed ordinance. <br /> Arguments submitted shall not exceed 300 words in <br /> length and not more than five signatures shall <br /> appear. <br /> <br /> b. The City Council hereby establishes January 8, 1986 <br /> as the last day for submission of rebuttal <br /> arguments for and against the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br /> c. Direct arguments shall not exceed 300 words and <br /> shall be signed by not more than five persons. <br /> <br /> d. Rebuttal arguments shall not exceed 250 words and <br /> shall be signed by not more than five persons. <br /> <br /> <br />
