Exhibit A Scope of Services Bernal Community Park Phase 2 Harris Design Prepared 10/9/08 Page 1 of 8 Basic Services 1.0 Schematic Design 1.01 Kick-Off Meeting Meet with project ceam and City Staff m verify project schedule, define specific steps and work products for the Schematic Design phase, confirm the preliminary scope of construction, discuss the Ciry's project goals, confirm City standards, specifications and standard plans format, and establish projec[ managemen[ and communication procedures. Prepare meeting notes for this and all other project meetings. 1.02 Topographic Survey An aerial topographic survey for the Phase 2 azea will be prepared by Bellecci & Associates at a scale of 1" = 20", with one-foot contour intervals and spot elevations. Aerial topographic survey to cover Phase 2 limits of work and 100 feet beyond. Following the aerial survey, Bellecci will spend two days of field crew time to collect supplemental field survey points for the design team. Bellecci will also allow for another move-in for field survey points during the CD phase. 1.03 Geotechnical Report A geotechnical report will be prepared by Miller Pacific Engineering Group that will provide recommendations for site pavements, compaction, earthwork, seismic and foundation design criteria, and synthetic turf drainage. The recommendations will be based on laboratory testing of soils collected with at leas[ 6 borings at 10 feet deep. 1.04 Site Analysis Walk the site to verify all visually apparent features. Review Phase 1 and future Phase 3 conditions for integration with Phase 2. Create digital photo log. Collect soil samples fot horticultural analysis. 1.05 Data Review Review available project-related information as made available by the Ciry, including but not limited to the Bernal Community Park Master Plan and Specific Plan, Phase 1 plans and specifications, Phase 1 construction cost, scheduling, and change order data, Phase 1 geotechnical report, and Phase l topographic survey. L06 Initial Program Definition Prepare an initial design program narrative for site and buildings. Describe each program element in sufficient detail to establish the general design character, approximate sizes, and other quantifiable parameters. 1.07 Base Data Prepare CAD base sheets. Establish CAD standards and projec procedures.
