Commissioner Sullivan requested that Page 9, "Matters Initiated by Commission Members" be amended <br />to read, "Mr. Iserson advised that there will be no Joint Planning Commission/City Council workshop." <br />On order of the Chairperson, the minutes of November 23, 1998 were approved as amended. <br />3. MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />There were none. <br />4. REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Iserson stated that Item No. 6.e. will be continued to the January 13, 1998 Planning Commission <br />meeting. <br />5. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />There were none. <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />- a. UP-98-58. John and Virginia Madden <br />Application for a conditional use permit for an approximately 1,100-square foot second <br />unit within the residence located at 1780 Foothill Road. Zoning for the property is <br />PUD-LDR (Planned Unit Development) -Low Density Residential) District. <br />Greg Plucker referenced the staff report and highlighted key azeas contained in the report including <br />background information, project description, analysis, and neighborhood comments. In conclusion, Mr. <br />Plucker stated that staffs recommendation is that the Planning Commission approve Case UP-98-58 by <br />making the use permit findings as listed in the staff report and approving the use permit subject to the <br />conditions listed in Exhibit "B." <br />Discussion ensued relating to other additions in the azea and the previous uses and historical status of the <br />Bernal Adobe. <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br />Mike Madden, 5955 Coronado Lane, stated that the applicants are in agreement with staffs <br />recommendations and agree to all of the conditions listed in Exhibit "B." <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br />_ Commissioner Cooper expressed his pleasure with the Adobe being purchased by the applicants. He <br />noted that the secondary unit, from a design standpoint, does not present any problems.
