ROLL CALL <br />Staff Members Present: Jerry Iserson, Principal Planner; Roger Higdon, Assistant Director of <br />Public Works; Larissa Seto, Assistant City Attorney; and Deanne <br />Helgesen, Recording Secretary. <br />Commissioners Present: Vice-Chairperson Roberts, and Commissioners Geoff Cooper, Harvey <br />Kameny, Trish Maas, and Matt Sullivan <br />Commissioners Absent: Chairperson Kumazan <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Commissioner Cooper requested that Page 6, last pazagraph, be amended to read, "Further, he stated he <br />could only support the modified application, i.e. one that left out the hazardous materials, if a one-yeaz <br />conditional use permit were granted. In conclusion, he stated that due to the inadequacy of the present <br />proposal and the tremendous burden on staff to enforce restrictions on an uncooperative applicant, he <br />would vote in favor of denying the application." <br />Commissioner Sullivan requested that Page 8, paragraph 9, be amended to read, "Commissioner <br />Sullivan spoke in favor of the location of the project due to it being mixed use and in being in close <br />proximity to public transportation. Commissioner Sullivan suggested that the applicant use the wind <br />driven kinetic sculpture as a wind generator, maybe powered by a battery charger for emergency lights." <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Page 1 December 9, 1998 <br />
