Resolution No. PC-98-94 was entered and adopted as motioned. <br />e. UP-98-75, Walmart <br />Application for a conditional use permit to conduct the sale of firearms within the existing <br />retail store located at 4501 Rosewood Drive. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned <br />Unit Development) I/C-O (IndustriaUCommercial Office) District. <br />Continued to January 13, 1999. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />On Committee consensus, it was unanimously agreed that Commissioner Kameny serve as the Housing <br />Commission Liaison for 1999. <br />On Committee consensus, it is unanimously agreed that Commissioner Maas serve as the Golf Course <br />Committee Liaison for 1999. <br />Commissioner Cooper inquired as to the status of the Hopyard Road lane closure and is informed by Mr. <br />Higdon that work will be proceeding. <br />Commissioner Cooper suggested agendizing at a future meeting discussion of performing a specific plan <br />of the Dublin Canyon area. <br />Commissioner Maas inquired as to whether landscaping is going to mitigate some of the visual effects of <br />residences near the Thomas/Nelson development. Mr. Iserson responded that the plan was approved <br />with landscaping. <br />Commissioner Maas inquired as to the hearing for the Walmart application for a conditional use permit <br />scheduled for January 13, 1999. Mr. Iserson responded that the use permit for Walmart's firearm sales is <br />required based on the City's new firearms ordinance. <br />Commissioner Maas inquired as to whether staff explored possibilities of energy efficiency, such as <br />solaz energy, as conditions for applications. Mr. Iserson replied that this is one of the factors which staff <br />must consider in evaluation development proposals. Unfortunately, at times various considerations for <br />lotting patterns and house orientation aze in conflict and it is not always possible to make provisions for <br />solar energy. <br />MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW <br />a.
