Additionally, he stated that he would desire expanded use of the General Plan for developments in the <br />future. <br />Commissioner Roberts stated concurrence with views expressed by Commissioners Kumaran and <br />Sullivan, but stated the Planning Commission's responsibility is to ensure that the Tentative Map <br />conforms with the PUD. Commissioner Roberts concurred with staffs recommendations that the <br />Tentative Map should be approved due to the previous commission's actions. In addition, she expressed <br />concem with the density of development, but stated that the combination of Phases I, II and II of the <br />project are below density. Further, she noted that the applicant has provided vazious amenities. <br />Commissioner Roberts noted her support in approving the Tentative Map. <br />Commissioner Maas stated applicant has shown cooperation in working with staff and that denying the <br />Tentative Map due to interpretation of plan is not fair to applicant. Commissioner Maas noted her <br />concern with the density of the development, but stated there is a need for affordable housing in <br />Pleasanton, and that the project is a good product with the developer being in conformance. <br />Commissioner Dove stated after discussion with City Council members and previous Planning <br />Commissioners, that general consensus based on precedent, is that denial of the Tentative Map at this <br />point in process would be rare. Further, he spoke in support of affordable housing being developed in <br />downtown Pleasanton along a transportation route. Commissioner Dove expressed concern with <br />denying the Tentative Map after the applicant has invested in Phases 1 and 2 of the development and <br />spoke in support for approval of the project, due to previous approval of the PUD. <br />Chairperson Cooper expressed concern with the Stoneridge Specific Plan due to the high density <br />housing and future neighbors concern relating to density. He noted for the record that he would be <br />opposed to the Commission ever approving future projects similar to the Stoneridge Specific Plan. <br />Chairperson Cooper expressed concern with approving the Tentative Map, but stated that due to the <br />legalities of the situation, the recommendations from staff, and the PUD that was granted by the previous <br />Planning Commission, that he will support the vesting of the Tentative Map. However, he reiterated <br />that northeast Pleasanton has its share ofhigh-density housing and expressed his concern with the <br />Planning Commission approving similar projects in the future.
