asked whether the Commission would be interested in hearing Mr. Morrison's presentation. The
Commission agreed, and Chair Cooper will schedule a date.
8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW
a. Future Planning Calendar
Chair Cooper noted that at the last City Council meeting, the Planning Commission was asked to
propose a mechanism for implementing the proposed East Side Specific Plan process. Jerry Iserson
commented that the issue will be on Planning Commission's February 25, 1998, Agenda, and it was his
impression that the Planning Commission was asked to consider the scope of such a plan and how it
would interface with the Stoneridge Specific Plan. A brief discussion took place, and the Commission
agreed that public heazing must be provided for this issue. However, Mr. Iserson suggested that the
issue be discussed in two phases, with the Commission discussing the issue during the first phase and
with public comment during the second phase. He further suggested that Brian Swift discuss the issue
with the Commission prior to sending out any public notice, and the Commission further agreed.
b. Actions of the City Council
Chair Cooper reported that on February 9, 1998, the City Council overturned the Planning
Commission's vote on the federal firearms license and sales of firearms at the fairgrounds. They further
declined to put the issue on the ballot.
c. Actions of the Zonine Administrator
- There were none.
9. COMMUNICATIONS
Commissioner Dove noted for the record that following the January 14, 1998 meeting, he spoke
with Bill van Gelder regazding the comments made by Mr. Cordtz relating to ticketing prices and found
that there is now no disparity on the tickets at all.
10. REFERRALS
There were none.
11. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S INFORMATION
There were none.
12. ADJOURNMENT
The Planning Commission meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m. by Chair Cooper.
Respectfully submitted,
d~°/`
JERK SI"I ERSON
Secretary
Planning Commission Page 11 February 11, 1998
