Commissioner Kumazan expressed concern with the length of meeting in reviewing large projects such
as Ponderosa and Greenbriar. He suggested that exceptionally large projects be reviewed in two
meetings and asked Mr. Iserson whether he could do that in the future. A brief discussion followed
relating to Greenbriaz's appeal, and Mr. Iserson reported its current status. Chair Cooper also suggested
that future public hearings be prioritized, with the smaller, less complicated items being reviewed first.
A brief discussion took place regazding this issue as well.
Commissioner Kumaran expressed a need for the Commission to discuss the growth management
process and suggested that a workshop be held prior to the upcoming meeting. Ms. Iserson stated that he
will discuss the recommendation with Brian Swift, since he will probably want to conduct such a
workshop. He will report back to the Commission on this topic.
8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW
a. Future Planning Calendaz
The Future Planning Calendar was briefly reviewed. Mr. Iserson stated that Wayne Rasmussen
would like the Commission to review the Happy Valley EIR and give their comments, and asked
whether it could be placed on the March 11 agenda. He noted that the EIR covers the golf course. Mr.
Higdon offered to present the golf course plan at a future meeting for informational purposes. He also
stated that after the EIR is reviewed, the PUD for the golf course will be complete, and it will be ready
to come before the Commission. The Commission agreed to review the Happy Valley EIR at the
March 11 meeting if that meeting agenda is not too heavy. Mr. Iserson stated that if, for that reason, it
could not be put on that agenda, a special meeting will be scheduled.
Mr. Iserson reported that Mika's has been turned over to Code Enforcement. Staff will send one more
letter encouraging compliance. However, if the owner continues to ignore the conditions, it will be
ordered to appeaz before the Commission for possible modification or revocation of the use permit.
b. Actions of the Citv Council
There were none.
c. Actions of the Zoning Administrator
There were none.
9. COMMUNICATIONS
There were none.
10. REFERRALS
There were none.
11. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S INFORMATION
There were none.
Planning Commission Page 11 January 28, 1998
