BACKGROUND <br />The Sentinels of Freedom is anon-profit organization who is committed to supporting <br />injured veterans in their return home and reengaging them back into civilian life. <br />Through the four-year Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Program, qualified members of <br />the U.S. Armed Forces who were severely injured in the line of duty on or after <br />September 11, 2001, can apply for assistance. Recipients can be assisted with four <br />years of rent-free housing (adapted for physical needs), new furniture or other <br />household supplies, career placement assistance and training, new adaptive vehicles, <br />educational opportunities and financial and personal mentorship. <br />Volunteer Teams are created to coordinate and manage local donations, as well as <br />preparations for the "Welcome Home" Ceremonies that are attended by community <br />members, military leaders and dignitaries to formally thank the Sentinels for their <br />military service <br />The Sentinels of Freedom look to its community to support these injured soldiers and to <br />help them readjust to civilian life and prosper in their hometown through its mission. <br />Sentinels of Freedom is committed to helping communities across the United States <br />support as many of these men and women as possible -not by pushing them or pulling <br />them, but by walking along their sides. <br />fitted by: <br />t <br />es W.
