4. Interconnected signal system. <br /> <br />And the improvement thereof by preparation of environmental impact <br />statement, planning, schematic design, appurtenant engineering and <br />all as necessary for clearing, grubbing, excavation, grading, <br />modification of existing structures and construction therein of <br />base, pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, surface and subsurface <br />drainage, where required, bridges, retaining walls, lighting and <br />signing necessary for channeling, merging, turning and controlling <br />traffic, where required, in accordance with requirements of <br />California State Department of Transportation by the construction of <br />curbs, islands, overcrossing structures, ramps, electrical conduit, <br />traffic signal systems, where required, landscaping including <br />sprinkler and irrigation systems, where required, including all <br />structures and other appurtenant facilities necessary to make <br />facilities useful for the purpose for which intended. <br /> <br /> This Council finds that the land specially benefited by <br /> the improvement is shown within the boundaries of the map entitled, <br /> "Proposed Boundary of North Pleasanton Improvement District, City of <br /> Pleasanton, Alameda County, State of California." This map has been <br /> approved by the City Council and is now on file with the City Clerk. <br /> The land within the exterior boundaries shown on the map shall be <br /> designated North Pleasanton Improvement District No. 1982-4, City of <br /> Pleasanton, Alameda County, California. <br /> <br /> This Council intends to levy a special assessment upon the <br /> land within the described district in accordance with the special <br /> benefit to be received by each parcel of land, respectively, from <br /> the improvement. There shall be omitted from special assessment all <br /> public streets, alleys and places and all land belonging to the <br /> United States, the State of California, the County of Alameda and <br /> this City no~ in use in the performance of a public function. <br /> <br /> Where any disparity occurs in level or size between the <br /> improvement and private property, this City determines that it is in <br /> <br />the public interest and more economical to eliminate the disparity <br />by doing work on the private property instead of adjusting the work <br /> <br /> 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
