Section 8. Standby Time <br /> <br /> Standby time is that amount of specific and predetermined time <br /> that an employee is required to be on call in addition to the <br /> normal work day and shall be compensated at a rate of pay <br /> equal to twenty (20) hours of pay for each seven (7) day <br /> period spent cn standby. The hours of daily standby duty for <br /> water division employees shall be 4:00 P.M. to 7:30 A.M. The <br /> daily hours of standby duty for sewage treatment/sanitary <br /> sewer employees shall be 3:30 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. The <br /> requirement that employees in the classification of water <br /> system operator and sanitary system operators shall work <br /> standby as set forth in the job descriptions of such <br /> classifications. <br /> <br />Section 9. Police Clerk Training Pay <br /> <br /> Police Clerks assigned responsibility to train new police <br /> clerks as part of a formalized departmental training program <br /> shall be paid the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each <br /> complete and continuous four week period spent training. For <br /> periods spent training of less than or more than four <br /> continuous weeks, said fifty dollars ($50.00) payment shall be <br /> prorated on a daily basis (to the nearest whole work day). <br /> <br />Section 10. Holidays <br /> <br />10.1 Observed Holidays <br /> The holidays to be observed are as follows: <br /> <br /> a. January 1st. <br /> b. The third Monday in February, known as "Washington Day." <br /> c. The last Monday in May known as "Memorial Day." <br /> d. July 4th. <br /> e. The first Monday in September known as "Labor Day." <br /> f. The eleventh day of the eleventh month, known as <br /> "Veterans Day." <br /> g. Thanksgiving Day. <br /> h. The Friday following Thanksgiving Day. <br /> i. Christmas Eve Day. <br /> j. December 25th. <br /> <br /> -12- <br /> <br /> <br />
