Warnick:

This is to present the proposal for the planning of the Pleasanton Area
signal system and to identify specifically the responsibilities of the
North Pleasanton Improvement District (NPID) on the said subject. On
this matter, TJKM is acting as the agent for the'Prudential Insurance
Company of American and Callahan-Pentz Properties. We have examined the
details of system expansion, investigated the extent of the upgradin~;_- _
required to provide on-line "V/C"' monitoring capabilities, and
established specific recommendations on the subject. The following is a
description of our recommendations for the City to consider.

'1. These are the intersections that will have the
poorest, or controlling, levels of service under both present and
future traffic conditions. The recommended locations have been
previously reviewed with the engineering and planning staff of the
City and with the Environmental Monitoring Committee. NPID has the
respansibility for setting up monitoring facilities at 22 of the 33
intersections. (See attached table.)

Fourteen of these 22 NPID-responsible monitoring locations are
exis'Cing signalized intersections, and the others are expected to be
signalized in the future. Immediate action is recommended for and
can be taken at nine of the 14 locations.
