Although not all of the signal locations shown in Figure 1 can be included in the 128-signal system, it is projected that the recommended system can handle all the signals to be interconnected within the next ten years, because some of the projected signals will not be installed before 1995~ It is recommended that the NPID ~ be responsible for expanding the master to a 64-signal system with accessories necessary for the master to be ready for further expansion to a 128-signal system. These accessories cost a total of $11,000. Also, it is recommended that the cities of Pleasanton and Dublin share equally the cost of $67,000 for completing the expansion of the master from a 64-signal to a 128-signal system.
