Policy 10 <br /> <br /> ...to increase housing opportunity for moderate <br /> income* households. <br /> <br />*(Moderate income households are those earning between 80%-120% <br />of the Bay Area median household income.) <br /> <br />Many of the measures discussed to this point will assist the <br />community in meeting the needs of lower income households. <br /> <br />Further actions may be required to provide incentives for <br />construction of housing that in the past has been affordable to <br />individuals and families earning in the "middle-range" of <br /> <br />Bay Area incomes but who now would have difficulty in securing <br />adequate housing in Pleasanton. They may not be able to afford <br />the locally high housing costs and they may not be able to benefit <br />from available housing assistance. <br /> <br /> Implementation Program 1: To use the growth manage- <br /> ment program in order to facilitate moderate income <br /> housing construction. <br /> <br />Certain features have been incorporated in past growth management <br />practices to encourage construction of moderate income housing as <br /> <br /> -25- <br /> <br /> <br />
