OPERATING CONDITIONS <br /> <br /> 1. Tow companies must hold and maintain a current, valid City of Pleasanton <br /> business license. <br /> <br /> 2. Service must be provided 24 hours per day, seven days per week, without <br /> exception. <br /> <br /> 3. The operator must have available a minimum of two {2) adequate tow trucks <br /> and drivers. Equipment shall be subject to police inspection as <br /> determined by the Pleasanton Police Department. Tow vehicles will be <br /> maintained in compliance with the provisions of Sections 24605, 25253, <br /> 25300, 27700 and 27907 of the California Vehicle Code; Section 9701 of the <br /> Revenue and Taxation Code. <br /> <br /> 4. Tow service operators and tow truck drivers employed by the tow service <br /> will be sufficiently capable to insure safe and proper discharge of their <br /> service responsibilities. Tow service operators and tow truck drivers <br /> will be properly licensed in accordance with Section 12804 of the <br /> California Vehicle Code. <br /> <br /> 5. The tow operator shall be responsible for removal of all debris resulting <br /> from any automobile accident from which he tows. <br /> <br /> 6. The tow operator will assume responsibility for proper security of auto- <br /> mobiles and personal property. The tow service will provide a receipt <br /> whenever any items is removed from a stored vehicle and taken to another <br /> place of storage. One copy of the receipt will be placed in the stored <br /> vehicle, and one will be provided to the Pleasanton Police Department <br /> Records division to be attached to the original police report. <br /> <br /> 7. Tow operators will remove all wrecked and abandoned automobiles regard- <br /> less of condition, at police request. <br /> <br /> 8. Tow operators will be responsible for all lien sales, notifications, etc., <br /> incidental to disposal of abandoned vehicles, as required by law. <br /> <br /> 9. Tow operators will keep records of all tows, the disposition of the tows, <br /> and charges made. The records will be available for inspection by an <br /> authorized member of the Pleasanton Police Department. <br /> <br />10. Vehicles on which "holds" are placed by the Pleasanton Police Department <br /> shall not be released without written authorization of the Pleasanton <br /> Police Department. <br /> <br />II. Tow operators will provide for the release of automobiles to owners upon <br /> payment of charges during reasonable hours of the day (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), <br /> including Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. Release of vehicles between <br /> 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM is not mandatory. The tow company has the right to <br /> refuse to release a vehicle during the hours of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM unless <br /> a specific request is made by the on-duty Pleasanton Police Department <br /> supervisor. The tow company may elect to release a vehicle during these <br /> hours and an additional charge of $20 may be levied. <br /> <br /> -2- <br /> <br /> <br />
