19 <br />THE CITY OF <br />- '' -~- ~"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£f~S~4NTONo <br />July 15, 2008 <br />City Manager <br />TITLE: REVIEW, DISCUSS AND PROVIDE DIRECTION TO CITY STAFF <br />REGARDING AN ADVISORY COMMISSION OR COMMITTEE ON THE <br />ENVIRONMENT <br />SUMMARY <br />The City Council requested that City staff research and provide options for establishing <br />a commission or committee on the environment. This report accomplishes the objective <br />and requests that the City Council provide direction to City staff regarding the preferred <br />option. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />That the City Council review, discuss and provide direction to City staff regarding an <br />advisory commission or committee on the environment. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />No direct allocation of funds is suggested at this time, indirect resource impacts are <br />anticipated, and eventual direct resource impacts may result. In addition to the staff <br />time required to support the commission or committee, indirect support will be <br />necessary from the City Clerk, City Attorney and City Manager's Offices. Adding the <br />new advisory body may eventually require new staffing. <br />
